Maya’s wisdom, love, intuition, generosity and reverence are incredible gifts that guide this process so beautifully. When we met with Maya, we felt truly seen, for the best of who we both are and this helped us to celebrate this in each other and our relationship. Maya helped us create a beautiful hand fasting ritual that is connected with our own ancestral lineage and the resulting braided ribbon circle that was created through the hand fasting will be a reminder always of the new vows we made to each other.

What Maya offers is truly and profoundly healing, connective, with ripples far and wide. We had so many folx who were part of our day expressing the joy, healing and love they experienced in witnessing this ceremony and some even shared a desire and inspiration to do their own vow renewal."

"Participating in Maya Dancing Wolf’s drum-making ceremony was one of the most profound and life-changing experiences of my life. From the moment I entered the circle, I was welcomed into a community of strong, compassionate, and supportive women.  Maya created a space where every woman was seen, respected, and honoured exactly as she was. Her teachings reached far beyond the making of a drum.
The birthing ceremony of my drum became a turning point in my life. It was a deeply emotional experience that brought healing, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Maya Dancing Wolf is a gifted teacher, Elder, and guide whose wisdom is shared with humility, authenticity, and love. She creates a sacred space where women can reconnect with themselves, honour their ancestors, embrace their own strength, and remember who they truly are. I left with far more than a beautiful hand-crafted drum. I left carrying sacred teachings, lifelong memories, newfound courage, and a heart filled with gratitude. I will forever be thankful for this journey and for the privilege of learning from Maya Dancing Wolf. The heartbeat of my drum will always remind me of the circle, the teachings, and the sacred path that began there. 

END-OF-LIFE CARE

"Sitting vigil for the transitioning of a loved one is a very emotional and yet an honouring experience.

As a Death Doula, Maya helped guide us as family members in support of our mother during our mother's last few days; through her knowledge and compassion of what it is to be meaningfully present and to treat with dignity the uniqueness of each person's journey as they leave the physical world. She comforted us as the hours drew closer so we could understand what we might expect and why.

Our mother transitioned in the presence of song, drumming, smudging and love. Maya also honoured our mother and supported our family and friends through the Celebration of Life, bringing with her the teachings of the 4 directions, the honouring of our mother's life through joyful and meaningful remembrances and sacred song. We remain so grateful for the gifts of Maya Dancing Wolf."
